What is FAN?

► FAN is part of the Health Ministry of the 7th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. It falls under the department of Christian Education.

► FAN is a partnership between the AME church and the university community. The FAN program is developed, shared, and “owned” by all members of the partnership.

► FAN promotes physical activity and healthy eating in AME Churches.

Faith: A system of religious beliefs

Activity: Movement that increases your heart rate

Nutrition: Food used to nourish the body for growth and energy

► FAN was designed by a planning committee made up of presiding elders, pastors, health directors, laypersons, and university faculty who worked together to ensure that the program meets the needs of the AME church.
